Pin-up Photography...
I've been looking at Pin-ups forever. I've seen them all throughout my life from the vintage kind to the style that graces today's men's magazines. Hell, i've been shooting modern Pin-up the whole time without even realizing it (someone had to point it out to me). Shooting it on purpose though... nerve racking!
Ever tried to do something you do subconsciously on purpose? It sometimes comes out like you don't know what your doing at all. This shoot was like that...in the beginning.
HOWEVER...
Nikki managed to pull me out of a real funk. Her energy and spirit really brought me back to what was fun about shooting in the first place and after a really stiff start on my part we fell into our normal groove and kicked out another awesome shoot together.
I really think i've been spending too much time worrying about how to do it perfectly instead of how to maintain what makes me love photography altogether. It took my muse only a few minutes of smiling and generally being her goofy self to make me remember that photography is fucking fun. That's the truth!
Makeup for this shoot was done by Natalia Teresa! By now you should recognize her signature fire red lipstick!
